The waterfront is the most precious resource we have.  As a community, we need to control the developments along the waterfront and ensure those developments are in the best interest of the city.  Based on the current facts, I am not in favor of changing the zoning ordinances at the site of the proposed Bil-Mar redevelopment.  However, I would like to see a new restaurant in its place.

Protecting the water and the waterfront is crucial for us, future generations, plants and animals, tourism, and aesthetics.  Lake Michigan and the Grand River are beautiful and unique, but do need desperate attention.  The amount of garbage and polluted water that wash ashore is a great concern of mine.
