I have known Chad for a few years now and have been able to get to know his values and integrity through the many events in which we have been volunteers. Each year Chad also organizes the Grand Haven State Park Beach Clean-Up for the Alliance for the Great Lakes. This event allowed my family to also help volunteer and join in on the fun. Another event we participated in together was the Grand Haven Rotary Club Musical Lights, during which we spent several hours together in freezing conditions helping to assist with the coordination of the event. I was so happy to learn that Chad was running for City Council because I truly believe he has a pulse on our community, he is passionate about Grand Haven, and he has the strong work ethic to get results. If elected, I am confident Chad Lahey would have the perseverance and character to serve the city well.

On Tuesday August 3, voters in the City of Grand Haven will go to the polls and vote for up to two of the six candidates on the ballot. Two candidates will not move on to the general election after the primary, where the remaining four candidates will vie for the two council seats.

As a Grand Haven Township resident who boarders the city in residence, (one side of the road is township, the other city) as well as being an elected representative of the people to the Grand Haven Area Public Schools Board of Education, I am writing to offer my endorsement to Chad Lahey.

Lahey's experience in the business world working commercial real estate is an asset for City Council. Part of his job description includes convincing prospective businesses why they should do business in the area. This is a vital skill for a council member to have in these economic times, because with an almost 15% unemployment rate in the area, promoting our area and getting all the business we can is key for families.

Lahey's fitness for council goes beyond his work. Chad is very involved within the community. Whether its working with the Chamber of Commerce in programs like Leadership Connect, or leading the Alliance for the Great Lakes Beach Clean Up efforts, Chad is a community minded individual with service to others high on his to-do list.

Above all, Chad cares a lot about listening to people. Chad is the kind of guy who will seek input from effected parties, not just sit around and wait for the phone to ring.
